Corpse Bride!
i just watched Tim Burtons, Corpse Bride. And being a lover of all types of animation let me just tell you that this was one of the best. besides the fact that it was seemless puppet stop motion animation the story line rocked.
Young man wants to get married to a woman, instead things go wrong and ends up marrying a dead woman. and eventually the dead woman gives him up to the live woman. whole bunch of singing and action in the middle. but thats just the jist of it.
heres the thing about good animation. it stirs something inside you. its not real people, its not even real situations. but at the end of the whole thing, in the whole make belive world something in your heart says "awee..."
movies like these take me inside the make belive world of love and fantasy... where love lasts forever and sacrifices for love seem like the only thing to do...
heres my question to you... would you give up your true love just so he/she/it could be happier with someone else?

I would.
Whats the point of loving someone and caring about her if you cant make her happy. And love to a great extent is about freedom. Forced love is just as bad as murder. You might as well tie her up or keep her in a jail.
Destiny is another thing. I am a strong believer in that too.
agree wid saurabh and the cowlick,it wudn't really make sense to keep the person and not let go when you know wat the truth is so might as well let go and move on...
we'll as much as i would hate to i would considering he wouldn't be in love with me... i mean no point there really...
also thats a morbid morbid attention grabbing title it got me going what the hell!

Grudgingly, I would. And I guess judging from the other comments, we all have the same reasons. We dont really want to love someone with an intensity which cant be reciprocated... because at the basic level, we all want to be loved.
the onle scene I laughed at was when .. aaa .. i forgot who but when someone throws this plate and the butler comes from nowhere and catches it.
