so yeah!
lemme introduce you to my new weapon. the NIKON D70s. its all that i want in a professional digital slr. besides the fact that it looks good, it gives me all the manual options i needed in an affordable digital slr.
im thinkin of startin a photo blog now? donno? u guys tell me if i should!

Start a photoblog bro ... and I'll give you full marks if you can get a shot of some pretty arab chick wearing a designer mini-skirt under her burkha :) ... and here's a tip: best time to capture that is when they're getting in or out of their BMW's :)

madelyn: well if you've used slr cameras before then i dont see any problem with using this one. i used to use the fuji fine pix slr before. and the nikons interface is differnet from that. so thats the only thing that took time gettin familair with. otherwise its one awesome piece of equipment... lemme know if uve got any more doubts before you buy it.
saltwater: the canon 350d has 8 megapixels as compared to this one which is 6 megapixels. but have you placed them side by side? the canon looks like crap man. plus the picture qualilty on a nikon is better than canon. canon technology has a little blur to it. nikons are sharper. at least thats what i think. and thats not a bad idea to shoot an arab chick in an abaya.(burkha). lemme find someone who is up to it.

Photo blog is a great idea as long as you keep it lively and don't have like "a series of 10 pictures of the same sand...."

I am saving up for the very same model for months now :(
I just love Nikon as a system. They are too awesome esp. when you can still use those old Nikkor lenses which can be found dime a dozen.
So did you go for the Kit lens?
After a little experimenting get your hands on the 50mm f/1.8 .. awesome!!
Personally I think the 18-200mm VRII is the best all around lens. But then it costs a freaking bomb too :-(

You should enroll yourself in these amateur competitions on the net and the sites too. I am a member of one and beleive me the learning curve just twists its way up so much by just listening to people talk there.

saurabh: yeah dude nikon rocks. i got the kit lens. the dx 18-70mm. its not that bad really. but i the dx's are know to be crap lenses. gonna buy a 70-300 nikkor next week. lets see. this contest thing doesnt seem like a bad idea... will check it out. and india is way cheaper to buy camera gear. its the gray market there. so if i was in india, id probably get my gear from mumbai
